Heavy downpours at the beginning of May have lead to major floods in the north-east of France. Historic floods have been observed in the Bourgogne and Champagne-Ardennes regions. Hundreds of peoples have been evacuated. Monday the 6th of May, the Marne, Haute-Marne and Yonne departements are ranked at an orange vigilance level by Meteo France. Major floods have been reported on the Armançon, Serein and Marne rivers. SCHAPI (Service Central Hydrométéorologique d'Appui et de Prévision des Inondations) requested an aid from space to cover the affected area. In turn, the CNES has mandated SERTIT to assess the impact of the event. The data were delivered within Pleiades' thematic in-flight commissioning phase, ORFEO program and supported by the CNES.
