CHARTER Call 145 - Mozambique

Flooding in Mozambique

At the beginning of 2007, Mozambique was affected by important floods, which increased in February. The National Institute for Disaster Management (INGC) declared a red alert on February 4 for the Zambezi River basin. The National Water Directorate (DNA) and INGC estimated between 50,000 and 300,000 people displaced.
SERTIT is working within the framework of ESA's RESPOND GMES Service Element Rapid Mapping Action for the Charter Call ID 145 continuing on from ZKI-DLR's rapid mapping and UNOSAT's PM activities.
