Monday the 29th of September 2014, heavy rain hit the Hérault Département. The area, placed on flood red alert, received a sudden 300 mm downpour, equivalent to 5 months rainfall. According the prefecture, around 4 000 inhabitants were evacuated, and numerous infrastructure damages were observed.
