Le cyclone tropical Nargis a frappé la capitale Yangon, provoquant des dégâts considerables dans la ville et ses environs. Des villages entiers ont été submergés quand le cyclone a balayé le delta, une région côtière très peuplée. Le 20 mai, le nombre de mort et de disparus atteint 133 600 et 2,4 millions de personnes serait toujours dans le besoin dans le delta de l'Irrawaddy (source: L'express)
Tropical cyclone Nargis hit the capital Yangon, causing widespread devastation in the city and the surrounding areas. Entire villages were submerged when the storm hit the low-lying coastal delta, a heavily populated area.
