Les agences de protection civile de l'Allemagne, de la France et du Portugal ont activé la Charte à la suite du tremblement de terre qui a rayé de la carte la ville de Bam (Iran) le 26 décembre. Des images des satellites SPOT et IRS ont été utilisées conjointement avec une image Ikonos fournie par l'agence spatiale allemande (DLR) et Space Imaging Europe pour produire une carte des zones les plus endommagées, ainsi que des cartes de référence.
Civil protection agencies from Germany, France and Portugal activated the Charter after the earthquake which razed the town of Bam (Iran) on December 26. Images from SPOT and IRS satellites were used together with an Ikonos image provided thanks to DLR and Space Imaging Europe, to produce a map of most damaged areas and reference cartography.
